Challenge
Most applicant tracking systems were built for enterprise recruiting — packed with features a 20-person construction firm or a regional healthcare provider will never use. Onboarding takes weeks, the UI takes a course, and pricing assumes hiring at scale.
So niche businesses either use something too complicated, or fall back to email and spreadsheets. Neither works.

Arbeo Jobs is an ATS without the complexity, built for niche industries — AI matching that understands industry-specific roles, streamlined posting without enterprise overhead, and a human candidate experience.
Before a full build we ran a structured pilot to answer three questions: does the simplified approach remove real friction, does AI matching improve hire quality in a niche context, and how does the candidate experience compare?
Results
Posting was consistently faster; AI matching produced better shortlists, because in niche roles context beats keyword density; and a simpler, more human flow measurably improved application completion.
Post-pilot we added role templates, guardrails on comms automation, and stripped the dashboard back to "what needs your attention today".
